Best Trends from Milan Fashion Week Street Style

1. Sheer

First and foremost, sheer was a HUGE hit among Milan Fashion Week Street Style.

This is one of the most popular upcoming fall styles that was seen in Milan Fashion Week Street Style. It can range from the highest form of extravagance to something as simple as wearing a sheer dress over a simple outfit.

As shown in the pin, this guest elevated the sheer look by wearing it in the form of pants which elevates an outfit very quickly.

How You Can Style It For This Fall

The simplest way to style sheer is to wear a sheer dress over a casual outfit. This technique instantly elevates the outfit and takes it from basic to chic in an instant.

Another way to style sheer this fall is to where sheer as a maxi skirt or pants (as shown in the Milan Fashion Week Street Style inspo) which also quickly elevates a casual outfit.

2. Trench Coats Galore

Not only did this guest elevate one trend, but two. She combined the trench coat with leather in order to serve looks during Milan Fashion Week.

This trend is inevitable when it comes to fall and luckily, it was adequately styled in this Milan Fashion Week street style. Especially during this fall season, this can more commonly be styled in neutrals, burgundy, and army green.

This can easily take a basic outfit into the perfect fall fit. Imagine this: jeans, baby tee, and sneakers but boom… a burgundy trench coat. No accessories, no special garments, yet the outfit already looks elevated and intentional.

How You Can Style It For This Fall

This trend is most commonly styled in neutrals or in burgundy or army green during the fall.

The easiest way we saw to style this was to throw it over a casual outfit with sunglasses, a shoulder bag, and sneakers or mary jane’s. If you want to take it a step further, replacing the baby tee with a button up can easily add intentionality to the outfit.

3. Statement Collars

Similarly, relating to the first pin, statement collars are definitely in. As shown in the first point, this cardigan has a grand statement collar. Above is another way a statement collar can be styled.

Similarly to the previous trend, statement collars on cardigans, blazers, trench coats, and blouses are represented in the Milan Fashion Week style and are absolutely going to be popular this fall.

A statement collar can make a garment look instantly more expensive because it takes a small detail from other regular garments and focuses all the attention on it. Usually statement collars are on garments that have more going on, and these pieces styled with basics can make a look sophisticated and high fashion.

How You Can Style It For This Fall

There are a couple different ways to style a statement collar:

A Blazer: This can be styled like any wool or plaid blazer. As shown, it can be styled with something as simple as tights, a skirt, and mary jane’s or heels.

A Blouse: The most common way that we’ve seen these types of blouses to be styled is with a mini skirt or mini shorts.

4. Loafers

We all know the recent fad in the double-strapped mary jane heel. We have also all heard of the classic loafer. These combined are coming back into season this fall.

As shown in this outfield during Milan Fashion Week, not only is this guest representing the trench coat trend but also the mary jane loafer trends.

Although we have seen this trend time and time again, it’s a classic. This can be partial to the fact that the most popular mary jane loafer is the Doc Marten which are notoriously known for lasting decades. So, it’s hard not to wear something that will inevitably never go out of style.

That being said, that should give you even more of a reason to bust out you mary jane loafers (which we know haven’t even collected dust yet) and style them with your fall wardrobe.

How You Can Style It For This Fall

The most popular way to style these loafers are with white crew socks. To take this a step further, socks with a lettuce hem, long scrunched-up socks (as shown above), or lace socks (which simulates the school/church girl look) adds extra flare to the outfit.

Now focusing on everything but the ankles, these are really quite versatile. Although they add slight intentionality to a basic non-accessorized outfit, we like to see this trend most when paired with blazers (tying back to the “schoolgirl” look) or paired with tights and a miniskirt (as shown below.)

Most people might think that these styles are basic or overworn because these girls are saved across every girl’s pinterest board, yet no one is wearing these things in public which is just a disgrace to fashion itself. So yes, go outside and be confident in wearing your pinterest board.

5. Oval Glasses

Last but not least, Oval Glasses. These glasses that took the world by storm after the siren glasses dominated the summer. We can infer that these glasses are Prada oval glasses as retailers all over the country have made an affordable dupe for them. Luckily for you, we found some and they’ll be linked below.

Although not shown in the trend, more specifically, Bayonetta glasses are taking over this fall season. This form of glasses mixed with brown tortoise is screaming fall in every aspect. This trend can be added on top of any casual outfit to add an extra elevation to a regular fit. Not only do glasses naturally make people look smarter (it just is what it is), they also have a functionality aspect to them.

How To Style It For This Fall

Unlike the previous trends where simply adding a garment can drastically elevate a look, this trend doesn’t. It just adds a little more personality and even with a basic outfit, it can just add a sprinkle of quirkiness.

Eyeglasses are an accessory that not many people think about because they’re mainly functional and it can be quite difficult to get prescription glasses currently in season if the trends will just change. But once done properly, they make quite the impact.
